Butch took Roy to his appointment with the orthopedist, Dr. Lord, this morning. There was good news and bad news. Well, really, the bad news wasn't too bad, and that's good.
Good news: 1. His leg is healing well, and he can start walking on a cane instead of a walker when he is in the house, or for short distances.
2. One of the bones in his arm is also healing well.
Bad news: 1. One of the bones in his arm is not healing well, so he will still need to wear the cast.
2. His leg is not strong enough yet for him to ride a motorcycle, and since a motorcycle is his only means of transportation, he will have to come back and live with us for a while longer.
One really good thing is, he is completely off of the Hydrocodone; just takes ibuprophen now for pain; and the pain has considerably lessened in the past couple of weeks. Now it is mainly just a soreness and ache.
He really needs to get a job. He has a buddy who works for ProfitFuel in Austin, and he says he thinks he can get him on there. I am praying that someone who has an extra car will loan it to him for a couple of months!
